I am a writer not just by choice, but by nature. I cannot not write. I tried once. It didn’t work. I love this about myself.
What I do choose is what to write. Mostly, I enjoy writing (and reading) urban fantasy with some aspect of paranormal something or other thrown in for good measure.
A brief list of stories I love so much that I have read them more than once: The Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud, The Old Kingdom trilogy by Garth Nix (this one holds the record at 4 total reads so far), The Fabelhaven series by Brandon Mull, The Princess Bride by William Goldman (my hardcover copy has sticky notes everywhere marking my favorite lines and passages), and The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede. I swear I sometimes read books that come out of the adult sections in the bookstore (the Discworld novels by Terry Prachett and Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clark, for examples).
